Common Questions
How do I continue an existing memo?
Open a stopped memo and tap Resume. Resumable records a new segment and keeps it inside the same memo.
Why does Resumable use background audio?
Background audio lets an active recording continue when Resumable isn’t in the foreground or your iPhone is locked. It also keeps memo playback going.
Where is my data stored?
Recordings, transcripts, bookmarks, and folders stay on your iPhone and are included in your own device backups according to your backup settings. Resumable has no account or cloud service, so we can’t see or restore your recordings.
Why is transcription downloading a language model?
Transcription runs on your iPhone. On iOS 26, Apple may need to download an on-device speech model for your language before the first transcription can start.
How do I share a recording or transcript?
Open a stopped memo and tap the Share button. Choose Audio, Transcript as Text, or Transcript as File, then pick a destination in the iOS share sheet.
A recording was interrupted. What should I do?
Reopen Resumable. The app checks for unfinished recordings when it launches and keeps any audio it can recover. If a segment couldn’t be recovered, the memo stays in your library and identifies the missing segment.
I don’t see the Lock Screen controls.
Make sure Live Activities are turned on in iOS Settings → Resumable, then start a new recording.
